Mounting all your cymbals can take quite a while. First you have to take all the wing nuts off the stands, and when the cymbals are on, you have to tighten them all over again. Gibraltar wanted to streamline this process, so they came up with the Swing Nut.

The Swing Nut system eliminates the need for wing nuts, which are small parts that often get lost and are a quite a hassle to get on and off your stands every time you set-up or tear down your drum set. You simply place the cymbal and top felt on the stand and swing the nut to close it. After that, you can even adjust how tightly you want your cymbals fastened by changing the tension on the spring.
